GFI produce a
fantastic piece of software for security testing called LANguard
Network Security Scanner (N.S.S.). N.S.S. is aimed primarily at the
Windows NT / 2000 environment but will give some limited reporting
against other operating systems. Why is it so good? It is easy to use,
has a comprehensive set of tests, and its a fraction of the price of
most of the competing products. As an entry level security testing tool
it is second to none.
GFI
also produce several other products including GFI LANguard Security
Event Log Monitor (S.E.L.M.), GFI LANguard System Integrity Monitor
(S.I.M.), GFI WebMonitor for ISA Server, GFI DownloadSecurity for ISA
Server, GFI MailSecurity for Exchange/SMTP, GFI MailEssentials for
Exchange/SMTP.
